The Graduate

I went out to dinner last Tuesday at my favorite restaurant; Elephant Walk.  It is a French Cambodian restaurant.  There are two locations, one in Brookline and the one in Cambridge.  Just about everything that I have had there was delicious.  My fave dish is the salmon and yukon potatoes.  They also had this really great wine there; Kir Royal; one of my favorite wines.  I had a very difficult time deciding what to wear, because of the company that I was in.  I finally settled on this dress.  I am more of a leg person.  I rarely wear low cut tops; plus I have no breasts so no one is really missing out.

Money to Blow

Hello hello!
Quick back story. I was at Savers (thrift store chain) on Monday exchanging a purse. As I'm leaving, a crisp $100 bill on the floor behind an empty register catches my eye. For all of two seconds, I considered discreetly picking it up. Then the moral side of my brain kicked in and suggested that I alert the manager. I figured that it probably fell from someone's register, and once the drawer was counted at the end of the shift; said person's drawer would be short, and they would probably be fired for a careless mistake on their part and thievery on mine. I did the right thing and told the manager. You guys don't know how much it hurt, but I sucked it up and went home, as poor as I had left. Fast forward to Sunday. I went to a Haitian club (what a surprise) and as I'm walking to the bathroom, I make out in this dark club, money folded up on the floor. I wasted no time in bending down to pick it up. I sped to the bathroom and lo and behold it was two $20s and a $10. Woohoo! It pays to do the right thing I guess. On to what y'all came for :); fashion!

Bonne Fete Drapeau!

Happy Haitian Flag Day everyone!

Pause, yes Haitian Flag Day is really May 18th, but it is being celebrated today May 15th because Boston hosts an annual parade for the occasion on that Saturday.  Local school children march and carry banners and a HUGE Haitian flag.  It's a beautiful sight to behold.  Very family friendly and the whole community comes out to show their support.  The down part about Haitian Flag Day, is that it rains every year.  All day!

Here We Go Again

Hi ladies and gents,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was a little to chaotic for my liking, and I am looking forward to Friday already.  I dealt with a break up over the weekend, and of course I feel like a villain in my own life story.  The ex is a really great person, but I just didn't feel the spark that we once had in the relationship amongst other things.  Although I am still feeling like the crappiest person walking this lovely green Earth, I think it was for the best.

Earth, Wind & Fire

I've had loads of fun styling this jacket.  It is such a lovely cognac color and it complements a lot of different colors as well.  I wanted a brown leather jacket soo bad for such a long time.  One day while in a plaza I noticed that Arden B was having a really great sale.  I think it was 65% off of their clearance.  I lucked out and got about 2 leather jackets and some really cute black cocktail dresses.  It's the little things in life that make me happy.

Wild Thang, You Make My Heart Sing

Howdy ladies and gents,
Corny I know, but these cowboy boots bring out the country in me lol.  I got them a couple of weeks ago from Steve Madden.  Prissy of Rush Our Fashion is so good to her readers, she gave us a heads up that Steve Madden was having a 1/2 off clearance special and I being the overzealous shoe collector that I am wasted no time in picking a couple to come home to me.

The Night that Never Was

My sis called me to see if I would be interested in going to a local lounge to chill and listen to some Kompa and Zouk.  I of course jumped (more like sauntered) out of bed to find a LBD (little black dress) for the event.  Alas ladies we did not make it to the event, so I was all dressed up with nowhere to go.  My night was a bit ruined but listening to Kompa and Zouk always lifts my spirits so give a listen.

 Kompa ex: Carimi (Buzz)
