No One Like You

Hi ladies and gents!
I hope everyone is having a great and productive week.  I'm counting down the days before I leave for Haiti (it's 5).  I'm so excited!
I recently went out to dinner and saw a movie with a gentleman friend.  It was long overdue.  We hadn't hung out in a long time, and I needed to be out after being house ridden due to having strep throat.  I love movies and eating so it was fun times.  Add good company to the mix and I'm a happy customer.

Day at the MFA

Hi ladies and gents!
This post is a continuation from the Chihuly post.  I didn't want to inundate the post with so many pictures, so I decided to split the two.  After the Chihuly exhibit, my friend Kim and I decided to explore the rest of the museum even though we were pretty familiar with the exhibits already.  Check out the pics!
Let me in!!

Caramel Plum

Hi (waving ecstatically), hope you all had a great weekend.  I had a fun but slightly expensive weekend.  I will definitely be laying low this coming weekend.  As you probably assumed, these pics were taken in a library.  No, I don't just go take pics in the library lol.  Whenever I need to get things done, or serious thinking, I like to go someplace quiet.  I can not work/think in noise, AT ALL.  Ever since I was a child, the library has always been my refuge.  Books are my escape and they've allowed me to expand my horizons in more ways than I could have ever imagined.  I am so fortune to have had teachers and mentors who encouraged and supported my love of reading and thirst for knowledge.  I still have a bunch of books from my childhood, that I can't wait to share with my future children.

African Fest

Boston hosted it's 2nd annual African Fest on the 16th, and it was an event that I was excited to check out. I love all cultural events; especially the music, traditional garb, and let's not forget the vendors! It was wonderfully hot that Saturday and I planned on walking around, so I knew that jeans and even shorts were out of the question.

I want it all

I went to my friend's friend's birthday party on Saturday night.  It was nice and chill.  I had a couple of Patron margaritas.  Margaritas and I are bff's.  However, Joe the bartender made them a little too sour for my liking. Although this was another Haitian event, it was very different from the numerous events that I regularly frequent.  The men weren't desperate and thirsty.  So that was nice for a change, different but nice.

Ritas and Fajitas

On Saturday I met up with some friends to celebrate a birthday.  It was a really nice day in the Bean, and I thought neon blue jeans summed up my love for the sun completely.  I wish I could find similar jeans like this in yellow, green, red, and pink.  They're so comfortable.  The color doesn't bleed or fade.  In case you were wondering, these are called cigarette pants.  I'm not wearing high waters and trying to play it off.

Do Y'all Shop at the Same Store

It is hot (loving it) and muggy (not loving it) on my side of the globe.  I am from the islands and I love the heat, however I don't enjoy sweating but I do prefer the sun to snow or a cold fall day.  I went out to lunch with a friend yesterday and did someone's hair.  Excuse the sweatiness that is my face.  It was super humid, rain, lightning and thunder and then there was a tornado warning (WTH).  That's New England weather for you.

In the Jungle, the mighty Jungle

Leopard and red oh my!  This is my only leopard print top, and I want more.  I'm always tempted to wear it when I'm heading out.  I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for reasonably priced animal print tops.

Futbol

I went to the Haiti vs Harvard soccer game today.  It was the first real soccer game that I've ever watched.  I had such a fabulous time.  The sole reason that I went to the game, was because the Haitian National team was playing, and the proceeds were going to Partners In Health (check them out, they have a lot of great initiatives).

This is one of the fedora's that I bought from Filene's Basement.  I love love the colors, and the belt buckle.

When you're here you're family

I went to dinner with my sister and some friends to have a belated birthday dinner for the sis.  Her birthday was on the 22nd of November so I don’t even think it counts.  However we all got free dessert because we were out celebrating her birthday lol.  No complaints here.  I’m not really into Italian food, and I’ve only been to Olive Garden once or twice so I didn’t have high expectations for dinner.  Dining out is more about the experience which includes the food but also includes the company I’m in, the service and the ambiance.  I can tell you the company that I was in was hilarious.  We had quite a lively and dirty conversation during dinner that I’m sure caused a few raised eyebrows from fellow diners.

It's Raining Men

Disclaimer (My apologies, I can't seem to locate these pics but you can view them by clicking on the link to Tumblr)

That's the song that popped into my head as I was typing this post.  I can't get over how fun these rainboots are.  I always turn my frown upside down when I'm wearing hot pink polka dot boots.  Lets take a looksey down south at my stockings.  I hate stockings, or rather I used to hate stockings as an adolescent  There I said it.  I went to catholic school for 8yrs and I wore a uniform everyday with stockings that sagged at the crotch.  So why am I wearing stockings if I hate them so much you ask?  Well my dears, there aren't stockings, but spidernets.  Yeah so I totally made up that word.  I know I'm not the only one that does it.  Lol.  I feel like I'm wearing an intricate spiderweb in which to snare unsuspecting me (insert evil cackle)

*No fish or spiders were harmed in the making of my stockings.
