Hi all,
Hope everyone and theirs is safe and sound after Hurricane Irene. As you may know, I'm in Haiti. Thank goodness it passed us. I think we have filled our quota for natural disasters. Any who here are pictures from two weeks ago when I went paint balling. Um yeah this siht hurts!!! I've been paint balling before but it was indoors. This place is outdoors which means more people which means more flying bullets which means death to me :(

Spots and White
Hope everyone is doing well. I went to a late movie with a friend a couple of weeks ago, I love movies. I wore my high waisted white shorts and this spotted top. I really liked how simple and easy this outfit was. I added the blue sandals as a touvh of color to an otherwise simple outfit.
Have you all seen any interesting movies lately?

On To The Next One
I hope everyone is doing well! The following pics are from August 11th. I had a going away mixer. It was a good turnout. It was really nice to see some old and new friends all in one place before I had to leave. I just hope everyone doesn't forget about me. I have at least four different modes of communication: email, Facebook, Skype and Twitter, so my friends and fam have no excuses!

All The World Is A Stage
Hi all, I went out with a gentleman friend last Thursday. He surprised with a really lovely play. I am big into theatre and the arts. I've heard of Porgy and Bess, but I have never seen the play before. I am also very fond of Afro cultural events, and this play is about an African American community in the South. Although I did not know where I was going, I figured I should look decent, the only instructions that I got were to wear comfortable shoes.
I am not a fan of bright yellow, because I always feel like it washes me out and makes me look pale. However, now that summer is here, and I have tanned, yellow looks much better on me.

The Graduate
I went out to dinner last Tuesday at my favorite restaurant; Elephant Walk. It is a French Cambodian restaurant. There are two locations, one in Brookline and the one in Cambridge. Just about everything that I have had there was delicious. My fave dish is the salmon and yukon potatoes. They also had this really great wine there; Kir Royal; one of my favorite wines. I had a very difficult time deciding what to wear, because of the company that I was in. I finally settled on this dress. I am more of a leg person. I rarely wear low cut tops; plus I have no breasts so no one is really missing out.

Truth Tuesday
I really enjoy my own company, it's not you. I just like being by myself.
Wild Life
Here is what I wore to the zoo on the 14th. I bought these white shorts from H&M. They're high waisted, I call them mom jeans. This is also new for me because I don't wear white often. I'm the type that gets the weirdest stains on my white clothes within 10mins of wearing it. This top is a favorite of mine. I like the flower details and the scalloped edges. I also think the burnt orange is a great contrast for the white.

BRB
Hi all,
By the time you see this post, I will be well on my way to Haiti. I will be volunteering there for a couple of months, with an awesome organization that provides maternal healthcare to local women. I have several backed up posts, which I will post as soon as I am settled in. I am also going to continue to maintain the blog while I am in Haiti; since fashion is international lol. Thank you all for continuously checking out my blog and commenting. I am new to blogging and you have all been so supportive. Please continue to tune in!
Special thank you to Inez (she is a great blogger and the sweetest) for all of her troubleshooting help in Blogger :)

There She Goes, There She Goes Again
Hi all!
I went to the Stone Zoo today. I've been to the Franklin Park Zoo numerous times, bt never the Stone Zoo. I love being outdoors and learning new things, so a zoo trip is definitely up my alley. I do have an issue with animals being caged in as opposed to being in their natural habitat; but what's a girl to do. As long as they don't look like they're being mistreated. Stone Zoo is small, and a little far from Boston but I liked it better. It wasn't busy, and it didn't look like all of the exhibits were crowded together.

No One Like You
Hi ladies and gents!
I hope everyone is having a great and productive week. I'm counting down the days before I leave for Haiti (it's 5). I'm so excited!
I recently went out to dinner and saw a movie with a gentleman friend. It was long overdue. We hadn't hung out in a long time, and I needed to be out after being house ridden due to having strep throat. I love movies and eating so it was fun times. Add good company to the mix and I'm a happy customer.

Truth Tuesday
I really expect to have the wonderful life that I've envisioned in my head.
She was the sun's painting
Hi ladies and lads! Today (8/4) was spent at the doctors and getting my eyebrows done (long overdue). What do you all think of my shirt? I got it at the Afro Fest. This was my last acquisition. The vendor must have really wanted to sell his things because he gave me the shirt for $5 and I think that they're normally $15 or $20. I didn't even have to bargain. I actually insisted that I didn't want to buy anything because I didn't have any money left.
This pic reminds me of the Jill Scott and Mos Def song Love Rain, although there is no rain and I am not in love

Bubble Tea
Hi all,
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. This post is a bit overdue, because the pics are from two weeks ago (8/3) when I went to lunch with a friend. We went to grab some sushi in Copley (an upscale business/shopping area that spans several blocks). I wasn't too crazy about my meal. However I perked up a bit when I realized that they now offered bubble tea (an Asian drink, either tea or juice that has tapioca pearls in it) yum! Their bubble tea selection was tiny so I stuck with my face Asian teal; Thai tea. It was a really nice and sunny day. I finally brought out my white jeans that I have been so scared to wear. I am like a little kid when it comes to wearing white. I get every stain imaginable on my white clothing. This has made me ridiculously wary of wearing white. I did manage to get through my meal without any stains; so three claps for me!

OOTD at Aquarium
Hi all,
This is just a quick post to highlight my outfit from my aquariam date. Alhtough I love this dress, it's fun, bright, airy, thus perfect for the muggy heat in Boston; I didn't like the way I wore it last Sunday. I've usually belted it, but that day I decied to just let if flow. Let's agree that I should never let things flow when it comes to my wardrobe. Ok? Ok, great! Take a gander at what I wore.

Boo took this pic, not too bad for a 6yo hunh?
Aquarium Date with the Boo
Last weekend I went to the aquarium with my boo. It's been a long time since I've seen him so that was definitely nice. We parked in Fanueil Hall, and stopped to watch some street performers do acrobatics. Boo saw a man making balloon animals and wanted one. Took some cool pics and listened to a street drummer bang on pots and buckets, cuz we're cool like that.
Can you see them jumping rope with the little kid?
Truth Tuesday
I'm waiting on that I love you so much it hurts love. You're the first person I call with news love. You make everything better love. No one exists but us love. Until then, anyone else is just holding your spot for you.

Day at the MFA
Hi ladies and gents!
This post is a continuation from the Chihuly post. I didn't want to inundate the post with so many pictures, so I decided to split the two. After the Chihuly exhibit, my friend Kim and I decided to explore the rest of the museum even though we were pretty familiar with the exhibits already. Check out the pics!

Chi what? Chihuly!
Hi lads and ladies,
I hope everyone had a great weekend. These pics are about a week old. I went to see an exhibit with a friend of mine at the art museum. I love art, but it has been a while since I've been to the museum, because I felt like I had seen everything they had. However this exhibit definitely caught my attention because of the medium the artist chose to work with, and the fact that we didn't have to pay an entrance fee. Score! A blown glass exhibit by Dale Chihuly was being featured for a limited time. The colors, themes, and designs are GORGEOUS and so creative. Just looking at the pieces made me want to learn how to paint or draw. Most of the pics are of the exhibit.

Arm Party
Hi my dearest readers. Will you believe five challenges later, I'm finally joining the Bloggers Do It Better challenge? Lol, they don't call me stubborn and slow for nothing. The latest assignment called for an Arm Party. We all know that I'm always down for a party :). The term Arm Party was coined by Man Repeller, and it's basically how one layers one's bracelets, bangles, and cuffs etc. This assignment is right up my alley, because I love to layer bracelets. Some might even say I over indulge when Arm Partying, but it's a good thing I didn't ask some.
Here is my look for the BDIB challenge

I Don't Know Why I'm Scared, I've Been Here Before
Hello hello!
This outfit is from last Wednesday, the 27th. I didn't do anything special. Just a meeting, that proved to be pretty fruitful. I will admit that I agonized over what I should wear. I've been using Polyvore a lot lately to inspire some outfits. It was a really hot day, and these shorts are so comfy. The last time I wore them here it was for a night event. For years I used to shy away from wearing shorts. I've got meat on my legs and thighs, and I just always felt like shorts were unflattering, and not for me. Aren't we glad that phase is over?

I'm sure you guys understand by now, how deep my love for this fedora goes.

See, I Just Want You to Know You're Far From the Usual
I went horseback riding a couple of weeks ago. I debated posting the pics, because there wasn't anything fashionable about them. In fact I had on jeans and a plain purple T. I rarely wear jeans and a T. I knew that I would be getting dusty and sitting on a horse for 30mins, so I didn't think it made sense to wear anything "cute". I also had plumber's butt in almost ALL of the pics. SMH that I didn't notice this. I'm trying to be more open about what I post on the blog, because there are days where I don't really go anywhere, or wear anything blog worthy. So here it goes.

Caramel Plum
Hi (waving ecstatically), hope you all had a great weekend. I had a fun but slightly expensive weekend. I will definitely be laying low this coming weekend. As you probably assumed, these pics were taken in a library. No, I don't just go take pics in the library lol. Whenever I need to get things done, or serious thinking, I like to go someplace quiet. I can not work/think in noise, AT ALL. Ever since I was a child, the library has always been my refuge. Books are my escape and they've allowed me to expand my horizons in more ways than I could have ever imagined. I am so fortune to have had teachers and mentors who encouraged and supported my love of reading and thirst for knowledge. I still have a bunch of books from my childhood, that I can't wait to share with my future children.
Betcha Didn't Know
Hey gals and guys,
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Thought I would share some things about myself that you may not have gleaned from reading this blog.
